AURA (Avenca User Remote Analysis)

What is AURA?

AURA is Avenca’s web-based data analysis service, which enables replay and analysis of your marine digital data over the web, using just a standard web browser, allowing access from anywhere in the world (with an internet connection) without having to install any software.

When analysing VDR data, the AURA reconstruction provides animated scaled icons for the ship(s) of interest over a nautical chart, with gauges or graphs for measured parameters, synchronised display of radar/ECDIS images, and full control of the audio content. In addition, where CCTV data is available (ship or shore-based), this can also be replayed using AURA at the same time as the VDR/AIS data.

Avenca is an approved Technical Solutions Provider for the UKHO’s Admiralty Vector Chart Service (AVCS) Online. This allows us to include up-to-date/approved Electronic Navigational Charts (ENCs) in AURA, with ECDIS-like functionality (full display control and pick reports).

How does it work?

To use AURA, you simply send us your data (e.g. on USB memory stick, or via the internet). We then process the data and load it onto our secure server, and provide you with suitable access credentials to replay the data. It’s as simple as that!
